Welcome!

A world of competivity awaits you here.
What is competivity?  I'm glad you asked...

It has been said that our society eagerly cries out for a competitive force to fill the ever-growing vast wasteland of rampant uncompetivity. This desire lurks within the inner being of all, ever struggling to be satiated. Competitive Productions strives to answer this call by boldly providing a gateway to all things competitive for the common man in a most competitive fashion.

Competivity Defined

The concept of competivity defies definition. The process of encapsulating competivity within a few paragraphs, distilling competitive values into mere semantical constructs, and rendering competitive behavioral patterns into palatable portions is most difficult. This process is therefore itself highly competitive.

Thus, competivity can be defined as something like defining competivity. While very true, this definition is unfortunately circular. Since circular definitions are highly uncompetitive, we must look elsewhere.

The textbook definition of competivity has remained unchanged since its inception:

com•pet•i•tive (kǝm-pĕt’ǐ-tǐv)
adj. – of rare quality; cut from a cloth not many can weave

The first thing we notice about this definition is that it is decidedly uncircular. So far so good. However, several questions may arise:

    1.  What makes someone or something competitive?

    2.  Where can I learn how to weave this metaphysical cloth you speak of?

    3.  If I can’t weave it, can I buy it from you?

The short answers are:

    1.  It varies

    2. If you have to ask, you probably can’t; and,

    3. No.

That said, let’s delve a tad deeper into the definition.

Competivity itself is much more than just a desire to win, or a desire to triumph over others. In fact, this type of behavior can be quite uncompetitive at times. It’s a way of life punctuated by rare quality, a way of life bursting with creativity and the peculiar. However, these things by themselves are not necessarily a breeding ground for competivity, but rather flow forth from the competitive person as a result of their competitive nature. Not all can be competitive, for if they were, they would cease being competitive.

If this rather simplistic explanation of a most complicated topic hasn’t satiated your inner yearning for competivity, that is by design.  Stick around and discover a world of competivity.
